Jerónimo Elespe. Night and Ash

26 de November - 25 de April

Jeronimo Elespe:

Jerónimo Elespe’s (Madrid, 1975) work occupies a territory where silence, time, and contemplation intertwine. Through a series of paintings made specifically for the CAAC, and developed through a slow, repetitive practice, the artist transforms the everyday and the domestic into an almost liturgical experience. His works do not reveal themselves immediately: they call for a close and attentive gaze, inviting contemplation, stillness, and pause.

Layers, glazes, and repetitions turn each piece into a palimpsest in which time accumulates. Gardens, rooms, unlit lamps, and open books emerge as silent atmospheres. Architecture and objects serve as frameworks for reflecting on the relationship between interior and exterior, light and shadow, presence and absence
